How trade-in works at ReDevice

First, send your device's model, storage and condition on WhatsApp, and tell us what kind of pre-owned device you're looking for. You'll get an estimated trade-in value. Next, bring your device to either store or send it by courier. It goes through the same physical, function, lock and ownership checks as a straight sale. We then explain the final trade-in value and what affected it. If you accept, that value goes toward the pre-owned device you choose, and you settle any difference. If you decline, there's no obligation.

Devices you can trade in

You can ask about trading in any device ReDevice buys: iPhone, Samsung, Google Pixel, Xiaomi/Redmi, OPPO, vivo, Huawei, OnePlus and other major Android phones, as well as iPad and other tablets, MacBooks and laptops, and Apple Watch and other smartwatches. Damaged devices count too. A cracked screen, worn battery or many other faults lower the trade-in value rather than ruling it out, and devices that won't power on are assessed case by case. Before it can be accepted, the device must be signed out of iCloud or Google and free of any company management.

What you can trade toward

Your trade-in value goes toward a pre-owned device from ReDevice, such as an iPhone, a Samsung or other Android phone, a tablet or a laptop, depending on what's available. Pre-owned stock changes often, so the quickest way to see current options is to ask on WhatsApp, ideally with your budget and the models you're considering. Trading one type of device toward another, such as a phone toward a tablet, is possible where stock allows. Warranty terms depend on the specific pre-owned unit, so ask about them for the device you have in mind before you commit.

Topping up, or if your device is worth more

If the pre-owned device you want costs more than your trade-in value, you top up the difference. If your trade-in value is higher than the device you choose, ask us on WhatsApp about receiving the difference, since it depends on the specific devices involved. Any balance is settled using the payment methods currently available from ReDevice. It helps to ask for an estimate on both devices at the same time, so you have a rough idea of the top-up before you visit or ship.

Trade in at ReDevice Ampang, beside LRT Ampang

ReDevice Ampang is at 6-1, Jalan Dagang 1/1A, Taman Dagang, 68000 Ampang, Selangor, right beside LRT Ampang station, the last stop on the LRT Ampang line. It serves customers from Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. Opening hours are Monday to Thursday 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM; Friday 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 7:30 PM; Saturday 11:00 AM to 6:30 PM; closed on Sunday. Courier trade-in from elsewhere in Malaysia

Not near either store? You can still trade in by courier. WhatsApp us first for an estimate and confirm your device details before shipping. Pack the device securely, use a tracked, reputable courier and keep your tracking number. When it arrives, it's inspected the same way as in store, with ownership verified. If the condition differs from your description, the final value may differ, and you can accept or decline. The return procedure and any shipping or return costs are confirmed on WhatsApp before you send anything. Back up, sign out and reset your device before it goes in the box.

Trade-in or sell for cash?

Both start with the same estimate and the same inspection. Selling for cash gives you payment after you accept the offer, while trade-in applies that value toward a pre-owned device from ReDevice instead.
