How Gadget Trade-In Works with ReDevice

Trading in applies your old device's buyback value toward a pre-owned device from ReDevice, instead of receiving cash. Here's how it works.

Sell vs trade-in

Selling gives you cash for your device. Trade-in applies that same buyback value toward a pre-owned device you're buying from ReDevice — the process of quoting and inspecting your old device is the same either way.

Upgrading

Trade your current device in and top up the difference toward a higher-spec pre-owned device.

Downgrading

If your trade-in value is higher than the device you're getting, ask us about receiving the difference — confirm this on WhatsApp as it depends on the specific devices involved.

Device-to-device trade

Trading one device type for another (e.g. phone toward a tablet) is possible where stock allows — check current availability on WhatsApp.

How buyback value is calculated

Same as a straight sale: model, storage, condition, battery health and lock status all factor in, confirmed after physical inspection.

Damaged or locked devices

Courier trade-in

Data preparation

Back up and sign out of your device before trade-in — see our data wipe & privacy page.

Payment/top-up handling

Any balance (top-up owed by you, or difference owed to you) is settled using the payment methods currently available from ReDevice.

No obligation

Your estimated quote carries no obligation to proceed — you can walk away after inspection if you're not happy with the final offer.
