Every MacBook Air M1 is assessed against the same four condition tiers we use across all devices:
- Excellent — no visible wear, fully functional, strong battery health
- Good — light cosmetic wear, fully functional
- Fair — visible wear and/or reduced battery health, fully functional
- Damaged — cracked screen/glass or functional faults — still buyable, see below
What affects your MacBook Air M1 offer
- Battery cycle count and battery health
- Screen condition, including any coating wear or scratches
- Keyboard, trackpad and Touch ID function
- RAM and SSD configuration — 8GB or 16GB unified memory, 256GB to 2TB SSD
- macOS account sign-out status
Common faults we see on MacBook Air M1
None of these rule out a sale — they're factored into the offer, same as with any device we buy.
- Keyboard key shine or slightly worn lettering from daily use
- Faint marks on the screen from keyboard contact when closed without a cloth
- USB-C port wear — the M1 Air has no MagSafe, so it charges through its two Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports
- Battery health reduced from repeated full-cycle charging
Before you sell
Back up anything you want to keep, then sign out of iCloud and erase the Mac (System Settings → General → Transfer or Reset). A MacBook still signed into iCloud can't be purchased.
Common questions about selling a MacBook Air M1
Yes — battery wear is factored into the offer rather than disqualifying the device.
You'll need to recover it through Apple's account recovery process first — we can't remove iCloud lock on your behalf.
