Every iPhone 17 is assessed against the same four condition tiers we use across all devices:
- Excellent — no visible wear, fully functional, strong battery health
- Good — light cosmetic wear, fully functional
- Fair — visible wear and/or reduced battery health, fully functional
- Damaged — cracked screen/glass or functional faults — still buyable, see below
What affects your iPhone 17 offer
- Battery health — should still be close to full capacity on a device this new
- Screen and back condition — being a recent device, any damage affects the offer more noticeably
- Camera function
- Original accessories and box, if kept
- Storage capacity and lock/account status
Common faults we see on iPhone 17
None of these rule out a sale — they're factored into the offer, same as with any device we buy.
- Battery health below 85% — normal for a 2+ year old device, still factored into the offer rather than disqualifying it
- Fine scratches on the screen or back glass from daily pocket wear
- Minor dents or scuffs on the aluminium/titanium frame edges
- Charging port lint build-up or slightly loose-feeling Lightning/USB-C connection
Before you sell
Back up anything you want to keep, then turn off Find My iPhone and sign out of iCloud (Settings → [Your Name] → Sign Out). A device still under Activation Lock can't be purchased — see our locked phone page for details.
Common questions about selling a iPhone 17
Yes — screen and back glass damage reduce the offer but don't rule out a sale. Tell us the extent of the damage on WhatsApp for an accurate estimate.
