Where the store is
ReDevice Ampang is at 6-1, Jalan Dagang 1/1A, Taman Dagang, 68000 Ampang, Selangor. Taman Dagang is right beside LRT Ampang station, the last stop on the LRT Ampang line, and next to the SUKE expressway, around 1 km from Ampang Point. ReDevice has been in the mobile-device trade since 2017, so the people inspecting your device have been doing this for years, and the store serves sellers from across Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. It handles buyback, trade-in toward a pre-owned device, pre-owned device sales and repairs, so you can sell an old phone and ask about a replacement in the same visit.
Getting there by LRT
By train, ride the LRT Ampang line to its final stop, Ampang station, which is a short walk from the store. From central Kuala Lumpur, the line runs from Masjid Jamek out to Ampang. If you're coming from Pandan Indah, it's three stops from Pandan Indah station to Ampang station, and Pandan Jaya station is on the same line. Coming by LRT also means there's no parking to think about, which is handy if you're only dropping in to have a phone inspected and hear the offer before deciding.
Getting there by road
From the city centre, Jalan Ampang and the Ampang–KL Elevated Highway (AKLEH) both lead out to Ampang. From the north and south, the MRR2 ring road and the SUKE expressway both bring you to Ampang, which suits drivers coming from areas such as Cheras or Taman Melawati. Once you're close, search for the store address in Google Maps or Waze for turn-by-turn directions. Traffic around the Klang Valley changes a lot through the day, so give yourself some extra time rather than aiming to arrive just before closing.
Opening hours, including the Friday break
The Ampang store is open Monday to Thursday from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM. On Friday it opens from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, closes for the midday break, and reopens from 3:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Saturday hours are 11:00 AM to 6:30 PM, and the store is closed on Sunday. If you can only come at the weekend, Saturday is the day to plan for. On a Friday, avoid turning up shortly before noon, since the store closes for the break at 12:00 PM and you'd rather not have to rush the inspection or come back later.
What to prepare before you go
Start by sending your model, storage and condition on WhatsApp to 014-500 0085 for an estimate. Then back up your data. On an iPhone, turn off Find My and sign out of iCloud; on Android, remove your Google account and any brand account, such as a Samsung account. Factory reset the device, take out your SIM card and any microSD card, and remove or transfer any eSIM. The original box and charger aren't required, but they may modestly help the offer. If it's a company phone, make sure it has been released from MDM first, because a managed device can't be bought.
What happens at the store
At the counter, the device goes through a physical and function inspection covering the screen, body, biometrics, cameras, audio, buttons, connectivity, charging and battery, plus a check for replaced parts. The lock, account and ownership checks come next. You then receive the final offer with an explanation of what affected it, such as a cracked back glass or a replaced battery. There's no obligation: you can accept or decline. If you accept, you're paid in cash or by instant DuitNow or bank transfer, or you can put the value toward a pre-owned device from the store instead.
Walk in or courier from further parts of Selangor
From neighbourhoods close to Ampang, such as Pandan Indah or Pandan Jaya, walking in is usually straightforward. From further parts of Selangor, such as Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Shah Alam, Puchong or Bangi, crossing the Klang Valley for a single phone may not be worth it, and courier buyback is often the practical route. It works the same way: an estimate on WhatsApp, device details confirmed, the return procedure and any costs agreed before you ship, and inspection once it arrives. A walk-in still makes sense if you're coming into KL anyway, or if it's a higher-value device and you want to watch the inspection yourself.
Not just phones
The Ampang store buys more than phones. Alongside iPhone, Samsung, Google Pixel, Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, Huawei, OnePlus and other major Android brands, it takes iPads and other tablets, MacBooks and laptops, Apple Watch and other smartwatches, AirPods, cameras and gaming consoles. If you're clearing out several devices at home, list them all in one WhatsApp message with the model and a rough idea of each one's condition. Each device is still inspected and valued on its own, and you can decide on each offer separately rather than accepting everything as one package.
Damaged, locked or company devices
Cracked screens, battery wear and many other faults don't rule out a sale; they lower the offer, and the explanation tells you what affected it. Phones that no longer power on are assessed case by case, as are telco-locked phones, so ask on WhatsApp first. A device still under iCloud Activation Lock or Google Factory Reset Protection can't be bought, and neither can a company device that hasn't been released from MDM or any device with uncertain ownership.
